The Catholic University of Mbeya (CUoM), a private university owned by the Tanzania Episcopal Conference (TEC), is located in Mbeya City. The university seeks qualified Tanzanians to fill various academic and non-academic positions as part of its continued growth.

A. Available Positions

1. Academic Positions (24 Jobs)

Lecturer/Assistant Lecturer in Economics (2 Posts)

  • Qualifications:
    • PhD in Economics from recognized institutions, or
    • Master’s Degree (MA/MSc) in Economics with a GPA of 4.0 and a Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BSc) in Economics with a GPA of 3.7.

Lecturer/Assistant Lecturer in Mathematics (2 Posts)

  • Qualifications:
    • PhD in Mathematics, or
    • MSc in Mathematics with a GPA of 4.0 and a BSc in Mathematics with a GPA of 3.7.

Lecturer/Assistant Lecturer in Information and Communication Technology (2 Posts)

  • Qualifications:
    • PhD in Computer Science, or
    • MSc in Computer Science with a GPA of 4.0 and a BSc in Computer Science with a GPA of 3.7.

Lecturer/Assistant Lecturer in Accounting and Finance (2 Posts)

  • Qualifications:
    • PhD in Accounting and Finance, or
    • Master’s Degree in Accounting and Finance with a GPA of 4.0 and a Bachelor’s Degree with a GPA of 3.7.

Lecturer in Law (1 Post)

  • Qualifications:
    • PhD in Law, MA in Law (LLM) with a GPA of 4.0, and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) with a GPA of 3.7.

Assistant Lecturer in Law (4 Posts)

  • Qualifications:
    • MA in Law (LLM) with a GPA of 4.0 and LLB with a GPA of 3.7.
    • Priority for candidates specializing in ICT Law and Tax Law.

Assistant Lecturer in Literature (1 Post)

  • Qualifications:
    • MA in Literature with a GPA of 4.0 and a Bachelor of Arts with Education (BAED) with a GPA of 3.7.

Assistant Lecturer in Kiswahili-Isimu (1 Post)

  • Qualifications:
    • MA in Kiswahili (Isimu) with a GPA of 4.0 and BAED with a GPA of 3.7.

Assistant Lecturer in Kiswahili-Fasihi (1 Post)

  • Qualifications:
    • MA in Kiswahili (Fasihi) with a GPA of 4.0 and BAED with a GPA of 3.7.

Assistant Lecturer in Linguistics (1 Post)

  • Qualifications:
    • MA in Linguistics with a GPA of 4.0 and BAED with a GPA of 3.7.

Assistant Lecturer in Education (2 Posts)

  • Qualifications:
    • MA in Education with a GPA of 4.0 and BAED with a GPA of 3.7.
    • Preference for candidates with a focus on Educational Measurement and Evaluation.

Assistant Lecturer in Human Resource Management (2 Posts)

  • Qualifications:
    • Master’s in Human Resource Management (MHRM) with a GPA of 4.0 and Bachelor’s in Human Resource Management (BHRM) with a GPA of 3.7.

Assistant Lecturer in Library Studies and Records Management (1 Post)

  • Qualifications:
    • MA/MSc in Library Studies and Records Management with a GPA of 4.0 and BA/BSc in the same field with a GPA of 3.7.

Assistant Lecturer in History (1 Post)

  • Qualifications:
    • MA in History with a GPA of 4.0 and BAED with a GPA of 3.7.

Assistant Lecturer in Geography (1 Post)

  • Qualifications:
    • MA/MSc in Geography with a GPA of 4.0 and BAED with a GPA of 3.7.

2. Non-Academic Positions (3 Job positions)

Accountant/Assistant Accountant (3 Posts)

  • Qualifications:
    • Master’s in Accounting and Finance or Bachelor’s Degree in the same field from a recognized institution.
    • 3 years of relevant experience, ICT skills, and registration with NBAA as an Authorized/Certified Accountant.
    • CPA qualification is an added advantage.

B. Duties and Responsibilities

Lecturers:

  • Teach and organize courses, conduct seminars, supervise students’ work, mentor junior staff, and contribute to research and curriculum development.

Assistant Lecturers:

  • Deliver lectures, conduct seminars, supervise students, engage in research, and comply with university regulations.

Accountants:

  • Manage finances, coordinate revenue, expenditure, and budgets, prepare financial statements, and ensure compliance with institutional financial regulations.

Assistant Accountants:

  • Prepare financial reports, maintain records, reconcile accounts, and support the accountant in financial management tasks.
