Position: Technician 1 – Ore Control.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
To conduct sampling and drilling activities related to DD and RC Drilling operations/activities in support of the Evaluation Superintendent to archive the set targets.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) and/ or Certificate/Diploma in Geology.
- Possession of a valid Tanzanian Driving License will be an added advantage.
EXPERIENCE:
- At least 5 years’ Geology experience in an Open Pit Mining Environment.
- Knowledge of Open Pit Mining ore accounting and ore management will be an added advantage.
MAIN OR KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Ensuring that all geology work is undertaken in a safe, healthy, and environmentally friendly manner.
- Reporting all safety concerns per GGM standards.
- Prepare and organize all resources required for ore spotting in the pit and Rompad management for smooth shift operation.
- Assist Mine Geologists in controlling Ore Loss and ore Dilution and record ore material movements by ensuring they end up on the correct destination.
- Assist Mine geologist in collecting grab samples from various active mining faces and stockpiles for grade performance checks.
- Ensuring all grade control drilling samples are collected from the drilling site to the geology dispatching yard without violating QAQC standards.
- Maintain proper communication between the Rompad ore controller, Truck Operators, Excavator Operators, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure all ore material mined from the Open Pit to Satellite Rompad is correctly recorded and directed to the correct destination.
- Ensure all safety and work reports are submitted to the Mine Geology Supervisor at the end of each shift.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Communication Skills.
- Numeracy Skills.
- Computer Knowledge (MS Word, Excel, etc.).
- Strong results orientated and ability to consistently deliver on the plan.
- Safety conscious.
- Capable of working under minimal supervision with a systematic logical approach.
