The Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (RUWASA), a pivotal Government Executive Agency established under The Water Supply and Sanitation Act, of 2019, is thrilled to announce new job openings for August 2024. Operating under the Ministry of Water and inaugurated in July 2019, RUWASA plays a crucial role in enhancing rural water supply and sanitation systems across Tanzania.

1. Civil Technician – 30 Posts

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the repair and maintenance of RUWASA buildings and plumbing systems.
  • Conduct routine maintenance of water and plumbing equipment.
  • Implement technical plans related to repair and maintenance work.
  • Support Community-Based Water Supply Organizations (CBWSOs) in preparing and submitting monthly reports.
  • Provide technical advice and mobilize communities to form CBWSOs for managing rural water supply schemes.
  • Supervise CBWSO operations and assist in the maintenance of water supply schemes.
  • Participate in proposals for construction or rehabilitation of excreta treatment facilities and promote appropriate sanitation technologies.

Qualifications: Holder of an FTC or Diploma in Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Salary Scale: RSS 3

2. Water Technician II (Hydrogeologist) – 65 Posts

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct reconnaissance surveys on water sources, aquifers, rocks, and soils.
  • Assist in collecting and analyzing data related to water depth, flow, and quality.
  • Prepare reports on surveys and troubleshoot problems with geophysical equipment.
  • Perform minor repairs on water level recorders and other hydrologic investigation tools.

Qualifications: Holder of a Diploma in Hydrogeology, Water Supply and Sanitation Engineering, Water Well Drilling, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Salary Scale: RSS 3.1
